REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA (May 6, 2017) – A 13 year old killed in a bicycle accident on Saturday has been identified as Ciara Smith, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 5:30 pm at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Knob Hill Avenue. 13 year old Ciara Smith was riding a bicycle with a friend when she veered into the road for an unknown reason and was struck by a southbound bus.
Ciara Smith was tragically pronounced dead as a result of her injuries. The bus was reportedly not being operated by OC Metro, but by a contractor, MV Transportation. The accident remains under active investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
