“Three Car Fatality”
SIMI VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (July 29, 2017) – 63-year-old Christopher Lombard was involved in a multi-car accident on Highway 118 and Stearns Street early Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The accident was reported at approximately 4:10 a.m. Lombard was traveling eastbound on Highway 118 when he witnessed a silver Acura hit a black Toyota Camry causing the Acura to overturn. Lombard immediately pulled over into the center divider and crossed the median to help. Moments later, a Ford Fusion traveling westbound struck Lombard, the overturned vehicle and the driver of the Acura.
Lombard and the driver of the Acura, later identified as 24-year-old Daniel Vaca, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The 22-year-old male driver of the Ford Fusion sustained injuries. However, the extent of the injuries were unknown. The driver of the Toyota Camry was uninjured.
