CHINO, CALIFORNIA (January 7, 2017) – At least one person was killed in an accident on Saturday on Chino Hills Parkway, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 2:00 am. A 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 63 year old man identified as Thomas Contreras was heading west on Chino Hills Parkway when it veered over the double yellow lines for unknown reasons, traveling over the center divider for over 200 feet before colliding with a traffic pole.

53-year-old Daryl Hugh Love was a passenger in the front seat of the car and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Thomas Contreras and a passenger in the rear of the vehicle were both hospitalized with unknown injuries. The accident remains under investigation at this time and authorities are attempting to determine liability.
