CHICO, CALIFORNIA (January 31, 2017) – A man was struck by a car in a hit and run accident on Tuesday evening, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 7:30 pm on Tuesday at the intersection of Main Street and 9th Street. A man identified only as being in his 30s was either riding or walking a bicycle when he was struck by a car that fled the scene immediately afterwards.
The pedestrian was rushed to Enloe Medical Center by responding medical personnel. The pedestrian was listed as not being in critical condition after the accident, and the investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability in the accident.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
