CHICO: Man Injured after Being Hit by Car on West Second Street and Hazel Street

“Ongoing Investigation”

CHICO, CALIFORNIA (January 27, 2017) – A man was struck and injured by a motorist on Friday night on West Second Street and Hazel Street, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 9:17 pm at the intersection of West Second Street and Hazel Street. A man who remains unidentified was apparently crossing the street when he was struck by a car.

The pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries related to the accident. The driver who struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and is cooperating with local authorities as the accident remains under investigation at this time

“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
