CHICO, CALIFORNIA (March 28, 2017) – California Highway Patrol reported a two-vehicle head-on collision Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m., when a Ford Taurus, driven by 75-year-old Olmeda Weatherbie, entered onto Skyway from Spanish Garden Drive. Weatherbie drove into the path of a Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by 62-year-old Steven Jones, who was traveling westbound on Skyway, according to CHP.
The passenger in the PT Cruiser, identified as 53-year-old Felicia Castaneda, sustained minor injuries in the collision and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Jones and Weatherbie were not injured. Drugs and or alcohol do not appear to be factors of the collision. Police are currently investigating the collision.
