“Bicycle vs. Vehicle Crash”
CHICO, CALIFORNIA (July 21, 2017) – A 31-year-old cyclist was involved in a vehicle collision near Cohasset Road and Thorntree Drive near the Chico Municipal Airport Friday afternoon, according to Chico police officials. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. near Cohasset Road and Thorntree Drive. The cyclist was riding near the Cohasset Road and Thorntree Drive area, when the driver of a pickup truck traveling northbound collided into the cyclist, according to Lt. Billy Aldridge.
Good Samaritans came to the aid as they pulled the cyclist from underneath the pickup truck and performed CPR until Rescue crews arrived. The cyclist was transported to Enloe Medical Center. The condition of the cyclist was unknown.
The pickup sustained front end damage. It is unknown which way the cyclist was traveling on the road. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause and liability of the collision
