The accident happened near the intersection of 28th and Drake, in the Little Village neighborhood. Teles Fora was walking home after getting her hair cut when she was struck by a 29 year old Amazon truck driver.
Teles Fora was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries and was tragically pronounced dead. The driver has been identified as 29 year old Vladimar Gray, who has been arrested for ignoring a stop sign, ignoring pedestrian right of way, and driving without a license or insurance. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability.
