The accident happened around 4:40 am in the 4900 block of Randolph Road, near Sharon Amity Road and Sardis Road. A bicyclist was struck by a public safety vehicle for an unknown reason.
The cyclist was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center-Main in critical condition, and their current condition is unknown. The accident remains under investigation to determine cause and liability.
