CHP Investigating Fatal Crash
CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, CALIFORNIA (December 12, 2016) – One person died in a tragic, single-vehicle collision on Cabrillo Highway 1 near Soberanes Point. (map)
According to the CHP report, the driver of a red sedan struck the embankment and crashed. The car came to a rest about 20 feet off the roadway.
Responding officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and found the driver unresponsive. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
It is unknown if any other vehicles were involved in the collision.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash and will issue a report after a thorough analysis of the evidence.
