SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA (April 13, 2017) – Carina Bontilao Kubow has been identified as the victim killed in a tragic accident on Thursday evening, according to a local news source. (map)
Carina Bontilao Kubow, a 61 year old woman from San Jose, was traveling in a car with her mother and two other women heading westbound on Great America Parkway. A red Mercedes sedan driven by a 26 year old man suspected of being under the influence exited Highway 101 at a high rate of speed onto Great America Parkway, and veered over the center median and into the Subaru Forester carrying the four women.
61 year old Carina Kubow and her 91 year old mother Angela Bontilao were both tragically killed in the accident, and the two other women were injured. The 26 year old driver was identified as Vinod Bonthu, Bonthu sustained major injuries in the accident, and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The accident remains under investigation to determine cause and liability.
