“Drunk driver arrested”
CAMPO, CALIFORNIA (January 25, 2017) – According to the California Highway Patrol, two passengers were killed on Wednesday night in a DUI collision on Buckman Springs Road near Lake Morena Drive. (map)
CHP Officer Kevin Pearlstein reported that a Volkswagen Jetta, driven by 24-year-old drunk driver Ryan Gary Renz, was traveling southbound on Buckman Springs Road at a high rate of speed. Renz lost control of the vehicle causing it to hit a curb and overturn. The passenger in the backseat was ejected from the Jetta.
Officer Pearlstein states that the passengers of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.
It’s unfortunate that motorists under the influence disregard the negative effects that may ensue from driving under the influence. DUI drivers continue to endanger the safety of everyone.
