“SINGLE CAR COLLISION”
CAMPO, CALIFORNIA (January 25, 2016) – Two male passengers of Campo, were killed in a collision on Buckman Springs Road near Lake Moreno Wednesday night. (map)
The fatal accident occurred at approximately 7:00 pm. Ryan Gary Renz was traveling southbound on Buckman Springs Road, in a 2014 Volkswagon Jetta at a high rate of speed, when he veered off the road and collided into a large oak tree and overturned near Lake Morena Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The backseat passenger was ejected from the vehicle while the other passenger was pinned inside the vehicle.
Both male passengers of Campo succumbed to their injuries.
The information of the passengers were not released. However, CHP said the ages of the passengers were 23 and 26.
Renz sustained minor injuries. Renz was later arrested on suspicion of murder, gross vehicle manslaughter, driving on a suspended license, and felony DUI.
Buckman Springs Road was closed between State Route 94 and Oak Drive.
