“Multi-Car DUI Crash”
CAMBRIA, CALIFORNIA (February 25, 2017) – Three vehicles were involved in a DUI crash at French Corner Bakery on Main Street near Burton Drive Saturday morning, according the Cambria Fire Department. (map)
The injury crash occurred at approximately 8 a.m., when 40-year-old Jeremy Preston traveling at approximately 30 to 45 miles per hour, ran a stop sign and struck a pickup truck. Preston continued to drive and hit a Mercedes that was parked in front of the bakery. The collision sent both the pickup and Mercedes into the building. One car rested in the dining area of the bakery.
The Cal Fire, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, the California Highway Patrol and California Department of Fish and Wildlife all responded to the scene to aid in the treatment of people who sustained minor to major injuries. Five people were transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center with different degrees of injuries. One victim sustained major trauma, according to Cambria Fire Department Captain Emily Torlano. Preston was charged with driving under the influence, according the California Highway Patrol. He was being detained at the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
