BPPD Sergeant Mike Lovchik reported that the pedestrian woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a pickup truck around 5:30 p.m. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Sergeant Lovchik stated that the woman was transported to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with BPPD.
“The conventional wisdom is that the pedestrian always has the right of way. This is not always the case and creates a dangerous situation. Many pedestrian deaths and injuries can be avoided by both drivers and pedestrians being alert and cautious,” said pedestrian accident Attorney .
