“Semi-Truck and Vehicle Crash”
BUELLTON, CALIFORNIA (April 27, 2017) – A semi-truck and SUV were involved in a collision on northbound Highway 101 Freeway south of Buellton early Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The accident was reported at approximately 5:25 a.m. The disabled SUV was stopped in the right lane of Highway 101. The driver of the SUV got out of the vehicle and was in front of the SUV when a big-rig transporting new vehicles, came around the roadway and collided with the SUV. The impact caused the SUV to strike the driver, according to Santa Barbara County Fire spokesman Mike Eliason.
Fortunately, the driver of the SUV sustained moderate injuries. Emergency crews were called to the scene The driver was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment. The SUV did not have any lights on and was disabled in the right lane prior to being hit by the semi-truck. No further detail of the crash were available
