BRAWLEY, CALIFORNIA (December 21, 2016) – A fatal car accident claimed the life of Maria Garcia Zuniga on Wednesday evening, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened on Wednesday evening on Highway 86. 22 year old Javier Garcia, his mother Maria Garcia Zuniga, and Javier’s young daughter were all traveling from Riverside to Mexicali to catch a flight. A car cut in front of them abruptly, causing the family to crash.

Maria Garcia Zuniga was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Javier Garcia and his child were both rushed to San Diego hospitals with life threatening injuries described as bleeding on the brain. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability in the accident.
