“Man Died in Street Sweeper Crash”
STANTON, CALIFORNIA (September 1, 2017) – 21-year-old Brandon Gonzalez was killed in street sweeper vs. vehicle collision on Cerritos Avenue near Knott Avenue early Tuesday morning, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. (map)
The incident occurred at approximately 2:50 a.m. A Toyota Scion, driven by Gonzalez, and a street sweeper collided on Cerritos Avenue east of Knott Avenue.
Emergency crews were called to the scene. Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The street-sweeper operator sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center for treatment.
It is unknown the cause of the accident. However, and investigation is still ongoing.
