BRAINTREE. MASSACHUSETTS (December 15, 2016) – A worker was killed and another injured in an accident on Thursday morning at a water tank on Lincoln Street, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened at a municipal water tank on Lincoln Street near Eldridge School. A father and son team from Texas were working on the water tank, using proper safety harnesses and equipment when something went wrong with their ropes, sending both down into the water.
The son was able to escape and was rescued, then rushed to a hospital, however he was unable to hold onto his fathers body. The tank is being drained slowly, at around 50,000 gallons a minute, but the water tank holds over 1,000,000 gallons of water. The investigation is ongoing.
