The accident happened around 5:20 am on the southbound side of Interstate 15, near mile post 355. Austin L. Taylor, a 28 year old from Clarkston, was driving a Ford Escort when he lost control for unknown reasons. He spun out into the cable barrier, then back onto the roadway and into a FedEx semi-truck. The impact forced the Ford into the median, then back into the semi-truck, becoming wedged beneath it.
Austin L. Taylor was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency medical personnel. The driver of the semi-truck was reportedly not injured in the accident.
