The accident happened around 5:00 am on Highway 1 near Captain Cooper Elementary School. A 41 year old woman lost control of her 2008 Yaris and crashed into a tree for unknown reasons.

Responding authorities tragically found the woman dead as a result of her injuries. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability, and to determine if any other cars were involved.
