TULARE, CALIFORNIA (February 13, 2017) – A bicyclist was killed on Monday morning after being struck by a semi truck at the intersection of Houston Avenue and Lovers Lane, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 6:00 am at the intersection of Houston Avenue and Lovers Lane. A bicyclist identified as 80 year old Bonifacio Magana was struck by a 56 year old semi-truck driver in the intersection for unknown reasons.

Emergency medical responders rushed to the scene but tragically confirmed Bonifacio Magana dead of injuries sustained in the accident. The semi-truck driver remained at the scene and was identified as 56 year old Domingo Sustaita. The accident remains under investigation, however initial reports indicate that alcohol and drugs were not factors.
