BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA (February 17, 2017) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car on 80 Freeway near Gilman Street on Friday evening, according to a local news source. (map)

A pedestrian, identified only as a male, was reportedly struck by a blue Honda in the slow lane of the eastbound side of the 80 Freeway near Gilman Street, around 7:57 p.m. The Honda remained at the scene and several other vehicles stopped at the scene as well. Tragically, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of their injuries.

The identity of the pedestrian is unknown at this time. Police are currently investigating the accident to determine cause and liability.
