The accident happened around 5:10 pm at the intersection of 4th Street and California Avenue near the train tracks. A pedestrian was struck by an unidentified car, which immediately fled the scene.

“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
