BANNING, CALIFORNIA (June 2, 2017) – A small plane crashed near the Banning Airport on Friday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)

The small plane, described as a Cessna 150, was en route from Palm Springs to Banning, and lost control as it attempted to land near the Banning Airport. The plane crashed just off Interstate 10 near Hargrave Street.

Two people were injured in the accident, and were both rushed to a nearby hospital. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
