Male Pedestrian Dies on Sunset Avenue after Being Hit by Vehicle
BANNING, CA- A male pedestrian was killed on Tuesday evening, December 23, 2016 on Sunset Avenue, north of Ramsey Street at about 5: 42 p.m. An on-coming vehicle fatally struck the man as he was walking down the street. Paramedics and emergency crews arrived to find the victim still alive.
He was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs where he succumbed to fatal injuries just moments later. It is still unclear how the accident occurred or if another party was injured. Authorities are currently investigating the crash.
“According to experts, drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
