BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 23, 2017) (Map)– A semi truck was rear ended by a white sedan on the southbound 99 Highway, just north of Highway 58. The crash occurred at about 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
According to the police reports, the sedan rear-ended the semi-truck and then spun out into lanes of traffic. The CHP also reported that the driver of this vehicle was driving under the influence.
Ambulance and emergency crews arrived at the scene of the crash to attend to any injured victims. It is not clear if another vehicle was involved and the accident remains under investigation.
“It’s unfortunate that motorists under the influence disregard the negative effects that may ensue from driving under the influence. Drunk drivers continue to endanger the safety of all other drivers,” said a California car accident and personal injury attorney.
