Big Rig Overturned on Highway 99
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (December 21, 2016) – The California Highway Patrol reported a fatal semi-truck accident along Highway 99 near Herring Road shortly after midnight on Wednesday. (map)
According to the CHP report, the accident occurred at about 12:39 a.m. when a milk-hauling big rig overturned on southbound Highway 99, just North of Herring Road.
Officials and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and found the semi truck on its side with the driver still inside. Glass, milk, and debris were littered across Highway 99.
Tragically, the driver was pronounced dead after being pulled out of the truck. The identity of the driver has not been released.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
