BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (February 13, 2017) – At least one person was killed on Monday after an accident on Highway 223 near Gosford Road, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 3:46 pm at the intersection of Highway 223 and Gosford Road. A pickup truck traveling westbound on Highway 223 lost control, crashed through two fences and into a storage container before overturning.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead by responding paramedics. A male passenger inside the pickup truck suffered major injuries and a third passenger was reportedly uninjured. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
