BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (December 21, 2016) – According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a man was struck and killed by a delivery truck on Wednesday in the the 3600 block of Wible Road. (map)

The BPD reported that a large yellow and white delivery truck was traveling northbound on Wible Road when the truck crashed into the pedestrian around 6:00 p.m. The truck swerved and continued northbound but returned to the scene of the accident shortly after to cooperate with police.

“The conventional wisdom is that the pedestrian always has the right of way. This is not always the case and creates a dangerous situation. Many pedestrian deaths and injuries can be avoided by both drivers and pedestrians being alert and cautious,” said pedestrian accident Attorney .
