KEENE, CALIFORNIA (April 27, 2017) – At least one person was tragically killed in a small plane crash on Thursday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)
The plane crash was reported around 2:08 pm and the plane was found a short time later in a remote area near Keene off Broome Road near Highway 58.. The plane was described as a single engine YAK 18A aircraft, a historic aircraft from the 1950s. The aircraft may also have been a replica.
At least one person was found dead at the site of the downed aircraft, and authorities are searching for additional victims at this time. The number of people on board the plane is unknown. The accident remains under investigation at this time by the FAA and the NTSB.
