One person was killed after their car went off the road and landed in a creek on Round Mountain Road in Bakersfield.
BAKERSFIELD: One Dead, Crista Skaggs Hospitalized after Car Accident on Round Mountain Road

“Tragic Accident”

BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (February 9, 2017) –One person was killed and another was hospitalized after an accident on Thursday morning on Round Mountain Road, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 10:11 am. A car reportedly went off Round Mountain Road and landed in nearby Poso Creek. Two men searching for mushrooms nearby saw a woman in the water and attempted to rescue her. They then drove to an area with cell service and called 911.

Responding emergency personnel were able to locate the woman and pull her out of the water, but the man inside the vehicle was tragically declared dead at the scene. The woman has been identified as 27 year old Crista Skaggs. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
