Elderly Man Killed in Pedestrian/ Vehicle Accident at 24th and N Streets
BAKERSFIELD, CA – A Saturday pedestrian/vehicle accident caused the death of an elderly man. According to the CHP report, the collision occurred at the intersection of 24th and N Streets.
Police Officers discovered the elderly man to be suffering from major injuries. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital where he succumbed to fatal injuries the following day.
According to Police statements, a vehicle was traveling westbound on 24th Street when it hit the elderly man while he was walking. The driver of the vehicle remained by the injured man’s side as police and other emergency crews arrived.
The driver also submitted for a DUI test and evaluation. It is unknown if the driver or the pedestrian were under the influence at the time of the crash and further investigation is needed.
