BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (February 4, 2017) – A 22 year old woman biking at the intersection of Oildale Drive and Decatur Street was injured by a hit and run driver on Saturday, according to local news sources. (map)
The accident happened around 10:00 pm at the intersection of Decatur Street and Oildale Drive. A 22 year old woman on a bicycle identified as Andrea Christine Webb was struck by a 30 year old man driving a 1996 Chevrolet S-10. Reportedly, the man had been traveling south on Seqouia Drive when he crossed into the northbound lanes near Sharon place and struck Andrea Webb.
Andrea Christine Webb was rushed to a local hospital, where she is in critical condition as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. The driver that struck Webb immediately fled the scene, but was later located and arrested for DUI and hit and run. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
