The BPD reported that the child was crossing a crosswalk in the 9200 block of Stine Road when the SUV crashed into the 8-year-old boy around 5:14 p.m. The boy was transported to an area hospital with moderate injuries.
The BPD states that the driver of the SUV, only identified as a 64-year-old man, remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. Alcohol or drugs was not a factor in this accident.
“The conventional wisdom is that the pedestrian always has the right of way. This is not always the case and creates a dangerous situation. Many pedestrian deaths and injuries can be avoided by both drivers and pedestrians being alert and cautious,” said pedestrian accident Attorney .
