“Pedestrian Injured”
ARLINGTON, CALIFORNIA (January 24, 2017) – A pedestrian was hit by a car and injured on Van Buren Boulevard and California Avenue on Tuesday, according to a local news source. (map)
A male pedestrian identified only as a 39 year old was walking across Van Buren Boulevard at California Avenue when he was struck by a car around 5:30 am. The car was identified as a silver Honda Civic.
The pedestrian was rushed to Riverside Community Hospital in critical condition by responding paramedics. The accident remains under open investigation, but initial reports suggest the pedestrian may have entered the crosswalk against the light.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
