ARLETA, CALIFORNIA (January 26, 2017) – At least one person was killed in a wrong way accident on Interstate 5 on Thursday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)
The accident happened around 1:53 am on Interstate 5 near Van Nuys Boulevard. A vehicle of unidentified make and model was spotted heading southbound in the northbound lanes of the freeway before it collided with another vehicle. Three vehicles were reportedly involved in total, with one of the cars overturned and another facing the wrong way.
At least one person was killed, and has been identified only as a male in his 20s. The condition of others involved in the accident is unknown at this time. The crash remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
