ARCATA: Pedestrian Injured in Accident on Highway 101 and Samoa Boulevard

“Ongoing Investigation”

ARCATA, CALIFORNIA (January 10, 2017) – A pedestrian was injured on Tuesday evening after they were struck by a vehicle on Highway 101 and Samoa Boulevard, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 9:01 pm at the intersection of Highway 101 and Samoa Boulevard. An unidentified vehicle struck the pedestrian, who was reportedly standing in the road for an unknown reason.

Paramedics responded to the scene to tend to the injured party, and their current condition is unknown. The accident remains under investigation at this time.

“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
