APPLE VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (July 22, 2017) – A pilot was involved in a deadly plane crash near Apple Valley Airport Saturday afternoon, according to the Apple Valley Fire Protection firefighters. (map)
The crash was reported at approximately 2:17 p.m. outside of the airport’s boundaries east of Central and Johnson Roads. The firefighters arrived to find the pilot killed in the crash, according to Fire Chief Sid Hultquist.
The identity of the pilot has not yet been released. No other information pertaining to the deadly crash was immediately available. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause and liability of the crash.
