APPLE VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (January 13, 2017) – 71 year old John Reed was struck by a car and killed in a tragic accident on Highway 18 on Friday night, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 7:15 pm on Highway 18. Pedestrian John Reed was apparently struck by an unidentified vehicle, which left him with traumatic injuries.

John Reed was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and the investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability. It is not known at this time whether the vehicle that struck John Reed remained at the scene or not.
