“Pedestrian Versus Vehicle Accident”
ANTIOCH, CALIFORNIA (APRIL 3, 2017) – A female pedestrian was injured in a car crash at the Buchanan Road Intersection. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 8:38 p.m. A 46-year-old Antioch pedestrian was crossing Buchanan Road at the intersection, against a red light traffic signal, when she was hit by a westbound vehicle.
The woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries to her legs and feet. The driver that hit the woman remained at the scene of the accident and was cooperative with authorities. Alcohol and drugs were not thought to be factors in the collision and the investigation is ongoing.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
