OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA (July 24, 2017) – 60-year-old Anthony Curtis and his sister was involved in a hit-and-run collision on 69th Avenue near the Oakland Coliseum Tuesday evening, according to the Oakland Police Department. (map)

The crash occurred at approximately 11:16 pm. Curtis and his 57-year-old sister, whose name has not yet been released, were traveling southbound on the 1000 block of 69th Avenue. The driver of a late model dark red colored vehicle, traveling in the same direction, hit both cyclists as they were carrying recyclable goods.

Curtis was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the dark colored vehicle fled the scene. Curtis’ sister sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. An investigation is still ongoing.

Police has offered a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the driver who fled the scene. Anyone with information may call police at 510-777-8570 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572
