The accident happened near the Metro Transit-Northstar Commuter Rail Station at 411 Pierce St. A woman was struck by a freight train sometime in the morning hours.

Emergency medical personnel tragically declared the victim dead as a result of her injuries. She was not hit by a Metro Transit train, but lines were delayed during the investigation, which is ongoing.

Many of these tragic deaths are avoidable, the rail system is antiquated and needs a complete overhaul to ensure the safety of pedestrians, drivers, and train passengers,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law, a California personal injury law firm.
