RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (October 8, 2017) – Angelica Garcia Martinez Figueroa was tragically identified as the woman killed in a head on DUI accident on Sunday, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 1:55 am on El Sobrante Road near Palm Road. 52 year old Angelica Figueroa was traveling as a passenger southbound in a 2015 Nissan on El Sobrante Road, along with the driver and two other passengers. A 24 year old man heading northbound in a 2013 Dodge veered over the yellow lines and crashed head on into the Nissan.
Angelica Figueroa was rushed to the hospital, where she later tragically died of her injuries. The driver of the Nissan, identified as 55 year old Maria Mata, was also hospitalized, as were her two other passengers. The driver of the Dodge, identified as 24 year old Kevin McCarthy, was also hospitalized, and is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
