“Fatal ATV Accident”

ANDERSON, ALABAMA (December 31, 2016) – Three people were killed and a fourth was injured in an accident on December 31st on Lauderdale 547, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 8:40 pm on Lauderdale County 547, near Rogersville. Four people were riding in a Polaris ATV when it crashed int a tree for an unknown reason.

Three of the people inside the ATV were pronounced dead at the scene, and have been identified as 57 year old Ricky Neal Smith, 42 year old Christopher Dewayne Holt, and 37 year old Shanna Thornton Smith. A fourth person, 52 year old Angela Smith, who is reportedly Ricky Neal Smith’s wife, was injured and treated at a local hospital. The accident remains under investigation.
