ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA (May 1, 2017) – A big rig was involved in a collision on the 5 Freeway on Monday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)
The accident happened around 8:00 am on the southbound side of Interstate 5, near Brookhurst Street. A Lexus sedan and a big rig were involved in a collision for an unknown reason, and the sedan may have caught on fire after the accident.
An ambulance responded to the scene, but there was no report on the extent of injuries sustained in the accident. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
