APD Sergeant Daron Wyatt reported that a 2003 Mercedes E500, driven by an 81-year-old woman, was traveling northbound when she struck the 78-year-old female pedestrian.
Sergeant Wyatt states that the pedestrian was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and cooperated with APD.
“The conventional wisdom is that the pedestrian always has the right of way. This is not always the case and creates a dangerous situation. Many pedestrian deaths and injuries can be avoided by both drivers and pedestrians being alert and cautious,” said pedestrian accident Attorney .
