The accident happened around 8:25 pm on South Grade Road just outside of the gated community known as Rancho Palo Verde. A Jeep Wrangler was driving westbound on Grade Road when it started to veer off the road. The driver of the Jeep, an unidentified 18 year old man from Crest, overcorrected and veered into the path of an eastbound Lexus SUV. The two cars collided head on, and a 17 year old boy in the back of the Jeep was ejected.
The boy was identified as William Burton, and he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Jeep and a front seat passenger were both wearing their seatbelts and sustained moderate injuries. The driver and passenger in the Lexus sustained minor injuries in the accident. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability, and Lexton Law is still receiving updates at this time.
“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends as they cope with such tragic loss,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all parties affected in this tragedy as they try to piece together what happened.”
