THOUSAND PALMS, CALIFORNIA (February 21, 2017) – A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed on Tuesday morning on Varner Road, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 1:11 a.m. on Varner Road, between Cook Street and Monterey Avenue. 25-year-old Alexandra Hendrickson was walking along the road when she was struck by a pickup truck. Alexandra Hendrickson was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of her injuries.

Alexandra was reportedly walking with another party when she was hit, but the other pedestrian did not sustain any injuries. The accident remains under investigation and the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene.
