ACWORTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE (May 16, 2017) – Christopher Hewey was identified as the man killed in a construction accident on Tuesday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened at a construction site around 1:00 pm, on Bascom Hill Road near Crane Brook Road. 37 year old Christopher Hewey was working in a trench, possibly helping to lay in piping on the town road, when for an unknown reason the trench collapsed on top of him.
Emergency medical responders rushed to the scene, but despite extensive resuscitation efforts, Christopher Hewey was tragically pronounced dead. Christopher Hewey was working for a private contractor at the time of the accident, but the contractor’s name has not been released. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is already investigating the accident to determine cause and liability.
